A New Chapter: Shop Fiber Art by Carola Online
Big news, friends! Fiber Art by Carola is evolving, and I’m thrilled to share that my WordPress blog is moving to make room for something new and beautiful.
The custom domain www.fiberartbycarola.com will soon point directly to my online store, where you can shop one-of-a-kind, handmade wearables and home goods, all dyed, stitched, and embellished by hand using natural indigo and other plant-based and earth pigment colors. Each piece is a reflection of Gullah Geechee and Indigenous Eastern Woodlands textile traditions, designed to honor ancestral memory and everyday beauty.
Don’t worry, my writing is blossoming! Stitching Culture is my new book and YouTube channel. Finally, I’m taking the time to write the story of “Us/We.” It’s the story of how the last Moccasin River citizen on Contentnea Creek Homeland survives to share the culture in 2025. My ancestors hid out in plain sight in dugout canoes covered with woven indigo-dyed hemp tarps, inside Bald Cypress Trees, after the March 1713 destruction of Fort Neyuherú·kę. It’s been a long journey, but “Us/We still here!”
The new Fiber Art by Carola blog will now live on Blogger, linked from my storefront landing page, as well as from both StitchingCulture.com and ArtbyCarola.com. The big Stitching Culture “long-journey” musings will now be shared on LinkedIn. These will consist of my reflections, studio stories, and updates on upcoming workshops and new collections. ITN Tools will be expanded to include YouTube videos and will remain at its current URL.
I can’t wait for you to see what’s next. Being inside the Historic Mercy Hospital building is providing me with clarity and focus to live my best life. This new studio space is where art, story, and commerce come together under one name: Stitching Culture. Please, share the journey of my self-healing transformation through the chaos of grief, disappointments, and childhood traumas.
